Brian Wendroff, managing partner and founder of Wendroff & Associates, a full service CPA firm in Arlington, Virginia, was recently nominated for two major regional business awards, the 2009 Arlington Small Business Association’s Financial Services Champion of the Year and the Virginia Society of CPA’s Top Five Under 35 Award.
“I’m extremely honored to have been recognized, but these nominations are really a testament to the whole Wendroff & Associates team,” said Brian Wendroff. “We have an exceptionally talented team, and I’m fortunate to the beneficiary of their hard work.”
The SBA Financial Services Champion award will be presented during the 2010 National Small Business Week, May 23 to May 25, and is specifically dedicated to those individuals or organizations that advocate small business by increasing the availability of financial services. The VSCPA Five Under 35 winners will be announced in May.
In 2009, Wendroff & Associates began hosting free monthly financial and tax strategy webinars, including the Ask a CPA and Accounting with QuickBooks Online Webinars, which were attended by more than 450 small business owners and individuals. Brian, who is the second most followed CPA on Twitter with more than 13,000 followers, was also voted one of the 100 most insightful people to follow on Twitter in 2009. And in Fall 2009, Brian founded the Northern Virginia Executive Roundtable, a CEO Peer Group of local C-Level Executives who meet monthly to discuss issues and strategies affecting their organizations.
“Last year, we really dedicated ourselves to providing planning and strategy services and events, such as the webinars and the roundtable, because we felt that in that tumultuous time entrepreneurs and individuals needed guidance, planning and collaborative support to ensure they were making good, strategic decisions,” says Brian. “I think these nominations show that we were on the right track.”
