Wendroff & Associates, CPA Announces Partnership with WiseCost

A New Solution for DCAA Compliance in QuickBooks Online

Wendroff & Associates, a veteran-owned CPA firm based in Arlington, Virginia, is proud to partner with WiseCost, a new platform designed to help government contractors maintain DCAA compliance while continuing to operate within QuickBooks Online.

The platform was developed through a collaboration between Managing Partner Brian Wendroff and technology entrepreneur Alfonso Aguilera, who met through the U.S. Department of State’s Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship Program in 2022.

How WiseCost Bridges the Gap Between QuickBooks and Traditional ERP Systems

For many government contractors, tracking labor across contracts remains a manual and time-consuming process. Real-time visibility into contract profitability is often limited, and compliance efforts frequently rely on spreadsheets and workarounds.

Many of these businesses are small, often with teams of 5 to 20 employees, pursuing cost-type contracts that require DCAA-compliant systems. The available solutions, such as Deltek or Unanet, are built for much larger organizations, with significant costs and lengthy implementation timelines.

At the same time, most of these companies are already operating in QuickBooks Online. They want to stay there, but lack the tools to meet compliance requirements without manually patching processes together.

This gap between QuickBooks-based workflows and enterprise-level systems led to the development of WiseCost.

WiseCost DCAA Compliance for GovCon

WiseCost is designed as a DCAA compliance layer that integrates directly with QuickBooks Online. The platform enables government contractors to manage time tracking, labor distribution, and compliance requirements within their existing accounting environment without migrating to a full ERP system.

Over the past year, Wendroff and Aguilera have worked together to refine the platform based on real-world use with Wendroff & Associates’ GovCon partners and clients. The result is a solution built around the practical challenges contractors face, with a focus on usability, accuracy, and audit readiness.

Deep Experience in Government Contracting and DCAA Compliance

Brian Wendroff, a veteran and CPA with 20 years of experience advising government contractors, has worked extensively with small and mid-sized firms navigating the complexities of DCAA compliance. During that time, he observed a consistent challenge: companies needed to meet strict compliance requirements, but lacked tools that aligned with how they actually operated.

“I’ve spent 20 years working with government contractors and kept running into the same issue: staying compliant often meant leaving QuickBooks. WiseCost changes that by adding a compliant layer on top, with fast onboarding and built-in audit controls.”

Supporting Small Government Contractors

For many small government contractors, the barrier to entry for cost-type contracts is not capability, but compliance infrastructure. WiseCost was developed to help address that challenge, providing a more accessible path to DCAA-compliant accounting without introducing unnecessary complexity.

WiseCost is now live and available to government contractors and CPA firms seeking a more streamlined approach to compliance within QuickBooks Online.
